Running brand Saucony has been making a push for it’s global social campaign. The campaign brings a unique group of influencers to serve as the voice of a new generation. This time around Saucony Originals collaborates with Sneaker Shouts, Yoanty Kicks, Tyler J. Blake, Tony D, and SneakerHeadInTheBay for its first annual Originators Only project.
Each colorway means something special to influencer and caters to their followers in a way that we haven’t seen before.
Sneaker Shouts’s colorway brings his fans back to his Portuguese descent, with hits of metallic, “Portuguese Gold” on charcoal grey suede and off-white premium nubuck, topped off with gold specks on the midsole. Yoanty dedicates “The Green Monster” to his home city of Boston and to his love for Red Sox games at Fenway Park. Tyler J. Blake presents a never-made-before classic “Triple White” sneaker that comes with a permanent marker for his supporters to customize the shoe. Tony D designs a “Tony The Tiger” colorway, which has bold black specks splattered on mustard yellow. Last but not least, SneakerHeadInTheBay pays tribute to the Bay Area by adding gold and burgundy accents to a soft nubuck sneaker, as the outsole is finished off with an image of the Golden Gate bridge.
The first drop of the 2017 Originators Only project will be limited to 100 sneakers per Originator. Marked at $120 USD each, the drop will be on August 11th at 12pm EST exclusively at saucony.com.
