To build hype for Drake’s upcoming album, Views From the 6, expected to release next Friday April 29, October’s Very Own have just released the looks for their Spring 2016 collection. This follows the recent pop up shops for “Views” merchandise launched in NYC and Miami, in addition to the Flagship stores in Toronto and LA. The continued development of OVO’s clothing collection furthers Drake’s status as an artist in both music and fashion after being named one of GQ’s “Most Stylish Men of the Year.” The intersection between music and fashion has been blown open in 2016, with Kanye’s Yeezy Season 3, Rihanna’s Fenty Line, A$AP Rocky’s Guess Collection, and many other artists such as Travis Scott favoring new up start brands such as Antisocial Social Club.
The OVO Spring ’16 collection features mostly T-shirts, hats, Sweatshirts, and Half-Zips branded with different takes on the OVO logo. The “ESPN” branded OVO logo is a debut design, while the classic owl and intersected OVO make appearances once again. Highlight pieces include the “Know Yourself” turtlenecks and a luxurious take on a sweatsuit in multiple colors, both articles of clothing that Drake has been seen rocking in public appearances. Overall the collection added more diversity to Octobers Very Own merchandise, and the color schemes of gold, white, and black were very fitting for Drake’s love of Toronto. The collection will be available at the LA and Toronto Flagship stores April 23, and online soon.
