Louis Vuitton and Hennessy Cognac are Opening up a School

Earlier this year, the luxury conglomerate Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (LVMH) unveiled plans to open La Maison LVMH in Bois de Boulogne, France, LVMH recently announced that it is set to expand its Métiers d’Excellence school of master craftsman and artisans to Italy. Partnering up with the Tuscan fashion school Polimoda, the expansion will provide a platform for leather-goods students to build upon their current design skills.

The Italian school will include only 12 artisans-in-training with classes held at the Polimoda Design Lab in Scandicci and Palazzo Pucci in Italy. Additionally, attendees will also be eligible for on-site training at various LVMH brands. The expansion is just the latest move in LVMH chairman, Bernard Arnault’s push to further the company’s education programs in jewelry-making, atelier sewing, watchmaking, the art of wine production, and cooking.
