John Elliott‘s NikeLab collaboration first surfaced during the presentation of his 2017 fall/winter collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s in early February. Rounding out Elliott’s sports-inspired collection on the runway was his NikeLab take on the Vandal High. Well now we finally have some more details regarding the sneaker and a release date. John Elliott issued a statement earlier saying:
“For me, the only silhouette that I did both in was the Vandal. I traveled with Vandals throughout the course of my childhood, so for me, this whole collection is based in the past. And there was no shoe that made more sense to work on than the Vandal.”
Elliott shared details on Instagram and an image of both the “Anthracite” and “Sail” colorways. Look for the sneakers to arrive in-store at colette and NikeLab P75 in Paris on June 21. The next day, they’ll be available worldwide via JohnElliott.co. Visit the website to read Elliott’s story on how the NikeLab collaboration came to be.
Just like everything else that John Elliott creates, this sneaker is very clean and looks as if it is made with the highest quality materials. Without a price point is hard to determine just how reasonable these sneakers are, but if they cost the same as other AF-1s then this will be one of the top shoes of the year. Anybody can stand to add this sneaker to their closet, and something tells me it will not be that hard to cop.
