There have been a few documentaries over the years regarding the status and history of streetwear. This one however focuses specifically on the younger generation and how they’re changing the culture.
Created by The Sole Supplier, this documentary takes it to the streets and to connect with kids in the queue at Supreme and Palace, as well as speaking to Damo from Patta for insight. Topics covered include finding out just how the young fans afford to buy the clothing, the most they’ve spent on a single item of clothing, and the pressure to stay on trend.
On the surface, this seems like just another example of old people being bitter that young people are younger than they are. Streetwear culture is THEIR culture and this sense of alienation stems from fearing of moving on for an aging generation.
