Balmain puts Their own Twist on Rock Fashion for AW17

Following up his collaboration with Nike and a palpable craze for his biker denim, Olivier Rousteing had everybody looking at him for what Balmain would do for their Autumn/Winter 2017 (AW17) collection. The show was held at Hôtel Potocki during Paris Fashion Week with Bon Jovi’s “Runaway” and a number of traditional military-inspired looks, including camouflage prints and aviator shearling bombers. The ’80s rock vibes continue on throughout the show, from the Scorpions and Queen playing through the speakers, to the incorporation of gold accents, vibrant beading, plush velvet, colorful alligator leather, and mesmerizing sequin tunics.

Once again, to nobody’s surprise, Rousteing delivered an amazing collection and n ever better show. The glam rock look innovated the already mega popular rock trend. We have a tough time seeing this trickling down to streetwear, but plan on your favorite celebrity wearing this on upscalehype in the coming months. Watch the entire show at
