adidas kicks off 2017 by bringing back the PureBOOST silhouette, adding to its growing BOOST family. The original PureBOOST was actually the predecessor to the ever-popular adidas UltraBOOST, yet was easily overshadowed by the popularity of the UltraBOOST, NMD, and Uncaged silhouettes that followed. While the 2014 version of the silhouette was clearly a performance running shoe, the German sportswear brand has attempted to make the 2017 version much more casual.
The 2017 PureBOOST features a completely minimalistic knit upper, similar to the Uncaged UltraBOOST. However, unlike the Uncaged’s sock tongue, the sneaker features a double-fold tongue that adjusts to individual fit. The sneaker also features a new “stretch web” on the BOOST sole, and a dynamic heel fit system for optimal flexibility. The three-stripes branding on the upper is reminiscent of the branding on the Ultra Boost Mid, debuted by Ronnie Fieg last month.
All in all, expect the PureBOOST to make waves in 2017 as possibly adidas’ next hot silhouette. The presence of the BOOST sole, along with a one-piece knit upper, makes it one of the most comfortable sneakers on the market. Whether you decide to run in them or simply rock them like Yeezys or UltraBOOSTs, adidas’ newest shoe will serve you well throughout the year.
